Respite Care

Respite Care

We can provide care for someone who only needs to stay in our homes for a short period of time, for both residential and dementia specialist care.

Examples of Respite Care

There are many reasons why people need to stay for a short period of time. There are occasions where an individual is in hospital following a medical procedure and requires an alternative to a prolonged hospital stay. The pressures and demands of an NHS hospital or even the private costs of staying in a private hospital for rehabilitation can be unnecessary and also not appropriate to cope with specialist dementia care needs.

Allowing families and carers a break

For individuals who are being cared for by families or carers in their own homes, a respite short stay allows families and carers to take some time off whilst knowing that their loved ones are in a safe environment and receiving the very best of care. Our care team will take into account your loved one's individual needs including if necessary any support for a range of specific conditions, for example dementia, physical disabilities, Parkinson's, learning disabilities, stoma care.

I have concluded with much satisfaction that Mon Choisy became the only real home that my mother has ever known. This is all the more poignant given that my mother in her final months had a form of dementia, in addition to her own individual and significant complexities. Mon Choisy succeeded in caring for, understanding and showing warmth and diligence to her demands and behaviour that had isolated her for much of her adult life. This gave me an opportunity to spend much valued time with my mother. The care afforded to other residents was, I feel tender and respectful, and this was quietly ongoing. I have witnessed very many acts of kindness by staff who were unaware of anyone else around. A caring and impressively managed home. My thanks to all, Jane Coltman.
