Fees, plainly
We publish our fees because most people never get a straight answer.
Care home fees are the single biggest financial decision most families make for an ageing parent — yet fee structures are routinely hidden behind "contact us for pricing" or replaced with seductive-sounding "from £X" figures that bear no relation to what families actually pay.
We don't think that's right. Below, you can put together an honest estimate based on which home and what kind of care you're considering. If anything is unclear, call us on 01865 739223.
Estimate your fees
Which home are you considering?
Two homes in Kennington, both registered for residential care and dementia care. Pick whichever you'd like an estimate for — you can change later.
Annual review
How fees change over time
We review fees annually — typically in April. When fees change, residents and families receive at least four weeks' notice in writing, with a clear explanation of what's changed and why.
Fees on this page were last reviewed in August 2026. We do not change fees more often than annually for existing residents, and we never apply mid-year increases without notice.
Fair terms
Terms we're proud to put in writing
A four-week trial, every time
Every permanent placement begins with a four-week trial period. If it isn't right, you can leave with two weeks' notice and we refund any fees paid in advance — no placement becomes permanent until you're sure.
No deposit
We don't charge a deposit or any upfront premium. Fees are simply billed monthly in advance.
Respite, priced plainly
Respite stays are typically around £100 per week above the equivalent long-term rate, with a minimum stay of one week — shorter stays by discussion. Many families use one as a gentle trial.
If you need to leave
After the trial period, a permanent placement carries a three-month written notice period. If we re-let the room within that time, we refund the balance pro rata — you never pay twice for the same room.
Everything in writing first
The full contract — inclusions, extras, notice periods and what happens in every circumstance — is provided and explained before any commitment, never after.
How families pay
Funding sources we accept
Self-funded
The most common arrangement for our residents. Families pay our private weekly rate directly, usually monthly in advance.
Local authority + family top-up
We work with Oxfordshire County Council and other authorities case-by-case. The LA pays its standard rate, and the family contributes a top-up to reach our private rate. The exact arrangement depends on the placement; we discuss this directly with families and the placing authority.
Attendance Allowance
Many of our residents claim Attendance Allowance, which contributes to the weekly fee. We can help families understand what they're entitled to and how to apply.
NHS Continuing Healthcare
Where someone's needs are primarily health needs, NHS Continuing Healthcare can fund care in full. Our team has real experience of the assessment process and can help you understand whether it might apply — something we're happy to look into from your first enquiry.
Deferred payment agreements
For self-funders whose main asset is their home, deferred payment agreements are available through Oxfordshire County Council. We've worked with families through this process many times — happy to talk you through it.
The next step
The best way to know is to visit.
We invite families to come in person — see Auditcare, meet the team, ask anything. Visits take about an hour. Tea and biscuits provided. No pressure.
